International Youth Day: Youth and Country's future: Proactive and Preventive Care!

In one of my talk on Integrative and Lifestyle Healthcare, I came across two young boys coming forward requesting for some development in Bihar on the same subject. As my interaction continued, I was surprised to know on the steps and actions they had initiated in Bihar in various areas of development in the areas of health, education, youth empowerment, etc. Was inspired to see their hope and their power to shape the future in the state.

This is not the first time, I have come across young people being hungry for better options. They are rejecting the status quo and demanding a better future. An engineer after 10 years in eminent multinationals, took a break to perceive MS yoga, and currently researching on power of our ancient Vedic hymns and its vibratory effect on the body. He is one of the team members  among the Clinical team of Integrated system at WELLBEEING.

High numbers of young people taking risks and trying to reach a better life, and willing to take drastic actions to do so is quite inspiring. And if these youth are allowed to realize their full potential, developing countries like ours could see huge economic gains.

The evolution of youth and their mind set in the last few decades have changed drastically. Today's youth are not ready for any compromise. In 40s (Our grandfathers) youth followed mostly their ancestors. They were mostly followers....followed their family affairs or business. In 60s (Our fathers) youth focused on bread earning. They wanted to make a living for their family, and settle down. This is when migration to urban areas began - the beginning of nuclear families. Felt contented with what was achieved by their retirement and settled. In 70-80s, people worked for their lifestyle. Tendency was to make money, property, etc. Started toiling more than the previous generation - the beginning of lifestyle problems. The focus of youth of 20th century is clearly 'quality of living'. To do what they wish and follow unconventional approach. Normal is boring. The wants are more than the need.

This clearly demands for a change in the offerings expected, be it in health care, home care, education, personal care, etc. The need for redefining every care is inevitable today.

At WELLBEEING, the need for redefining the way medicine is offered, is the motto through 'Integrative Medicine', which we believe is the future of healthcare, a new generation Healthcare delivery.

International Yoga Day - YOGA and its BENEFITS

If you are getting started or contemplating to start yoga, do get to know more about yoga benefits—getting better sleep or getting fewer colds or just feeling more relaxed and at ease, may be few quick observations you could do when you start with yoga regimen.  Researchers are catching on to Yoga’s benefits. As health & wellness Initiative for proactive lifestyle, I have laid out few benefits of yoga that are proven. If you thought that yoga was all about bending and twisting your body in odd shapes, it's time to rethink. Yoga is much more. In very simple words, giving care to your body, mind and breath is yoga. This means that the century-old practice includes yoga postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayamas) and meditation. Through these, the body, mind and breath come in harmony with each other. The word yoga itself means "union"of the individual with the External intelligence. Though many people think of yoga only as physical exercises — the asanas or pos...

Integrative Medicine - a GIFT to the Increasing Concern of Lifestyle Disorders

In the History of medicine, traditional systems of medicine prevailed before 3000BC which showed that herbalism was the way to go. In the period to follow 19th Century brought in a revolution in healthcare after the discovery of germ theory. During this period communicable diseases played a major role & modern evidence based medicine backed by research & development flourished.  20th Century saw rapid economic development & industrialization which lead to a disturbing number of increase in lifestyle disorders, shifting the focus of healthcare from communicable to non communicable disorders. 21st Century healthcare needs has shifted to lifestyle disorders as recent trends in healthcare show an alarming rise in NCD ( Non Communicable Diseases) or Lifestyle Disorders.   Lifestyle disorders are linked with the way people live their life- a faulty lifestyle in respect of poor diet, sedentary habits & stress.  Cardio vascular Disorde...
